PSU football memories: '87 ND game; that blue hair
The Penn State football memories series, featuring columns from different writers, continues this weekend in the Centre Daily Times with two special columns.
- Meet our top fan, tailgate; read first PSU football memory columns
- Nittany Lion photo, youth drawing contest begins
- Your turn: Will record crowd turn out, will stadium whiteout work?
- Monday Morning QB: JoePa Toga
Will Coach Joe Paterno, now trailing Bobby Bowden in most wins 366-364, tie or overtake Bowden by the end of this season?
On Saturday, John Greene shares the scene from the 1987 Notre Dame game on a bitter day. The former fullback scored two touchdowns for the Nittany Lions in their sweet 21-20 win.
And on Sunday, Willis and Martha Herr of Lancaster, the "blue-haired" fans, tell how their signature-look started and what it's like really standing out.
Look for the columns in the Centre Living section.
