PSU RB Scott out against Iowa due to rule violation

STATE COLLEGE — Penn State running back Austin Scott sat out Saturday’s game against Iowa because an unspecified violation of team rules.

Scott, a fifth-year senior, was not in uniform, spokesman Jeff Nelson said. He was a last-minute scratch after having been listed on the depth chart for Saturday.

Scott has rushed for 302 yards and a team-high six touchdowns this season but has had trouble holding on to the ball. He has four fumbles, and was supplanted as first-string tailback last week by Rodney Kinlaw.

Also, freshman running back Joe Suhey was cited Friday night by Penn State University police for underage drinking, according to a university police log.

Suhey, son of former Penn State fullback Matt Suhey, has seen little, if any, action on game days. There was no immediate word on his status with the team.
