Penn State football players Chris Baker, Navorro Bowman and Knowledge Timmons will not travel with the team to East Lansing for Saturdayıs regular-season finale against Michigan State, according to a statement issued by the schoolıs sports information office Thursday afternoon.
Baker, a starter in seven games at defensive tackle, including five of the last six, was charged with felony aggravated assault and several misdemeanors in connection with an Oct. 7 fight at the HUB on the Penn State campus. The redshirt sophomore had 37 tackles and 4 1/2 sacks in 11 games.
Bowman, the top reserve to starting linebacker Tyrell Sales, has 16 tackles this season. The redshirt freshman missed two games with a sprained ankle.
Like Baker, he was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, stalking and disorderly conduct and summary harassment.
Timmons, a sophomore defensive back, played primarily on special teams this season. The charges against him, misdemeanor disorderly conduct and criminal trespass, are related to his encounter with police after the fight.
