PSU hoops player waives hearing

BELLEFONTE — A Penn State basketball player charged last month for allegedly masturbating in the stacks of the university’s Pattee Library waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday.

Stanley W. Pringle, of Virginia Beach, Va., was charged by Penn State police with open lewdness and disorderly conduct after a woman reported hearing him masturbate and seeing him adjust his clothes in the stacks. Pringle told police he was not masturbating, but had a habit of putting his hands down his pants, according to court documents.
