14 nabbed in DUI checkpoint

A four-hour long DUI checkpoint this past weekend in the 1500 block of North Atherton Street netted 14 DUI arrests, according to the Centre County Alcohol Task Force.

The checkpoint and arrests happened from Friday evening into early Saturday morning.

Officers from Ferguson, Patton and Spring townships, Bellefonte, State College and Penn State participated in the detail.

These DUI details will continue year round, the task force said in a release.
