Funk band Earth, Wind and Fire and singer/songwriter Michael McDonald will perform jazz, gospel and R&B at the Bryce Jordan Center on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m.
Earth, Wind and Fire released its breakthrough album, “That’s the Way of the World,” in 1975. The band has recorded 23 albums and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
McDonald gained popularity as a lead singer for the Doobie Brothers in the late ’70s.
After the Doobie Brothers’ farewell tour in 1982, McDonald embarked on a solo career. McDonald released his solo debut, “If That's What It Takes,” in 1982, and has continued his solo career with a series of tribute albums to the Motown sound.
Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. Tickets are $47.50 and $55.
There are a limited amount of Gold Circle seats available as well as a limited amount of University Park Penn State student tickets available at $25.
