- sganim@centredaily.comFormer Penn State junior cornerback Willie Harriott has been cited for driving with a suspended license.
Nittany Lion’s coach Joe Paterno said early this week during his weekly call-in radio show that Harriott was booted from the team because of an incident.
Paterno said Harriott “got himself in a jam and won’t be on the team.”
Penn State police reported today that they have filed two summary traffic citations charges against Harriott.
He was charged with driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked, DUI related; and not having vehicle registration.
Harriott was charged Nov. 11 2007 with DUI after police say they saw him speeding and leaving his lane on North Atherton Street around 4:15 a.m.
According to Ferguson Township police, Harriott registered a blood-alcohol content of .16 — twice the legal limit.
Harriott was placed into a diversionary program for first-time offenders. That program often includes having one’s license suspended.
