Yes, Pine Grove Mountain had four inches of snow on May 12, not quite a record but worth featuring.

DO NEW homes, a couple thousand of them, mean many more students heading to State College Area schools?

Yes, sure.

Well, not so fast.

The school board heard findings of a demographic study last night, and you can read about it in Dena Pauling's story today.

“Perhaps to your surprise, ironically, in terms of direct impacts, it’s not nearly as massive as it would appear,” said Shelby Stewman, Carnegie Mellon University professor. “You can’t look at the scale of housing and expect that to deliver into students.”
