Leo, the 3-year-old Leonberger, is a regular at Royal Pet Resort, but he went missing Dec. 1 when he escaped a fence and pushed through two security gates. He initially pursued a van that would usually take him home, but he gave up after about a half-mile. He was rescued two weeks later.
New Hanover County Sheriff Ed McMahon said at a Monday press conference that an arrest had been made in the largest seizure of heroin and fentanyl in county history. Deputies said in a Facebook post that they found the drugs during a Nov. 30 search of Shawqui Rahim Gray’s home on Oleander Drive in Wilmington. More arrests are expected.
A dark Toyota RAV4 was traveling Thursday morning on Zion Road toward Bellefonte and stopped at a traffic signal before turning left to go on I-99 southbound, according to Spring Township police Officer Tony Roefaro.
Witnesses told police the driver of the Toyota turned left, causing a head-on collision with a Bellefonte municipal van. The Bellefonte employee was injured and taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for much of Centre County on Saturday night. The wind and rain caused some damage and power outages. Video shows some lightning through the Centre Region before the rain.
