A Belleville man died Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash.
The crash occurred at about 6:50 a.m. on Nittany Valley Drive near Stone House Road in Porter Township, about one mile outside of Centre County, in Clinton County, according to state police at Lamar.
Sterling A. Hardy, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hardy was traveling southbound on Nittany Valley Drive, and the vehicle he was following on the road stopped. John E. Zook, 48, of Lewisburg, was waiting to turn left from Nittany Valley Drive into Nittany Wood Crafters.
Never miss a local story.
Hardy’s vehicle, a 2001 Saturn, reportedly rear-ended the trailer of Zook’s vehicle, a 2017 Dodge S500. A police report of the crash did not specify how fast Hardy was traveling, but said it was at an unsafe speed.
Hardy suffered blunt force trauma in the crash. Zook was not injured, according to police.
State police were assisted by Nittany Valley Fire Company, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the Clinton County Coroner’s Office.
