A local food stand is about to became a restaurant.
The Cajun-inspired business announced the news Wednesday on its Facebook page, and the post was shared about 150 times.
Cajun Express II will replace Royal Garden Italian Restaurant, which closed after less than a year in business at 104 E. Wilson St. in Centre Hall. The building that will house the new restaurant was more well known as the Whistle Stop.
The Facebook post by the new restaurant said its staples like catfish, shrimp and chicken on a stick won’t be the only foods available on the menu, which will expand beyond Cajun foods. The announcement included the business’ intentions to open in the beginning of April.
Never miss a local story.
The Cajun food stand has become well known at fairs and festivals like Howard Fire Company’s Punkin Chunkin.
