A 9-year-old girl was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center after a crash in downtown State College.
The girl suffered minor injuries, according to State College police Lt. Chris Fishel, who said “by the grace of God she was only one inch away from being in really bad shape ... that much more and she’d probably be dead.”
The crash occurred at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of South Pugh Street and East Calder Way. A 52-year-old man from Philipsburg was driving a 2015 Ford 550 northbound on Pugh Street when the girl was walking across a crosswalk.
Fishel, who watched video footage of the crash, said a parked delivery truck blocked both the eyesight of the driver and girl from being able to see each other. The driver was traveling at about 15 mph, according to a police report.
No charges have been filed.
