Connie Cousins
The latest exhibit at the Bellefonte Museum for Centre County, “A World of Stitches” running through Dec. 20, has added another artist to the lineup. Judith Finkelstein will contribute “The Ancient Art of Felt Making” to the show.
Classes to be held at the museum, 133 N. Allegheny St.:
• At 2 p.m. Nov. 8, Kimberly Davis will present “Lessons Learned on Creativity, Persistence and Just Getting it Done.”
She spent four months waking up and heading directly to her studio to make a mini art quilt. Davis will share the lessons learned by completing the quilt. Free.
• From 1-4 p.m. Nov. 21, Davis will lead an applique arts class. Participants can learn to create mini quilts. No experience is necessary. Materials and tuition cost is $35.
• At Judy Finkelstein’s felt classes, participants will learn the ancient craft of making felt and then create an object from the fabric. Bring two plastic grocery bags and an older bath towel to all felt classes.
The following felt classes are offered:
Beads, buttons and flowers: Learn felting techniques while creating your own mini flower garden. 10 a.m. Nov. 14. Materials and tuition cost $32.
Beret: beginners are welcome to make a stylish felted beret in your choice of colors. No sewing is required. Bring a sandwich or take a short lunch break. 10 a.m. Nov. 21. Materials and tuition cost $32.
