Work to begin on Bellefonte bridge
BELLEFONTE — Workers on Monday will begin repairing the bridge over the millrace in Bellefonte next to Tallyrand Park, the state Department of Transportation said Friday.
PennDOT said most of the work will be done underneath the bridge and state Route 3006 and will have minimal impact on traffic. Work is expected to last two to three weeks.
The Bellefonte millrace is a channel of water that runs along Dunlop Street and that long ago was channeled off from Spring Creek to power the Gamble Mill.
The contractor is Francis J. Palo Inc., of Clarion.
