In a unanimous decision, Thomas Letterman was voted Bald Eagle Area school board president at a board meeting Thursday night.
The term is for one year.
Jeffrey Turner was voted vice president.
Letterman, of Milesburg, has served on the board for 12 years — five as president.
“I enjoy working with our board members,” he said. “We share a deep desire to improve our education system.”
Letterman graduated from Bald Eagle Area High School in 1962. He then attended Lock Haven University, where he earned a degree in physical education.
The three-day trip will allow the board to learn new techniques to help improve the board and govern the school district, Letterman said.
Letterman said that each year, different board members attend conferences.
The cost to send the board members has not yet been determined, but Letterman said the trip has been budgeted through the district.
