The donation will be given at a ceremony at noon Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church, 127 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall.
A spokeswoman for America’s Farmers — Grow Communities, said that Steve Wolfe, of Oaks Spring Farms in Gregg Township, won an America’s Farmers program. Wolfe selected the Hope Fund to receive the donation.
“They’re a good local organization that helps families in need, and I just wanted to give back to them,” Wolfe said. “It’s just a nice way of showing thanks, I guess.”
The Hope Fund financially assists residents of the Penns Valley Area School District who are dealing with a medical crisis or personal disaster.
America’s Farmers — Grow Communities works with farmers to support nonprofits doing important work in rural communities. Farmers can enter to win $2,500, which is then directed to the farmer’s nonprofit of choice, Baker said.
Launched in 2011, the program services 1,289 counties in 39 states.
