The Philipsburg campus of DuBois Business College started enrolling students in December, but the branch officially welcomes people to its new location for a ribbon-cutting ceremony March 21.
The school offers an associate in specialized business degree, as well as diploma programs. Students will begin taking classes in April.
The branch is in Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership’s enterprise center on Shady Lane in Rush Township. The partnership had South Hills School of Business and Technology in the space as a tenant, but that group closed their campus last year.
Philipsburg Main Street Manager Dana Shoemaker is joining with the school to host the March Business After Hours networking event hand-in-hand with the school’s event, which will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., with the ribbon cutting at 5 p.m.
“The Philipsburg Revitalization Corp. is thrilled to partner with the Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership and the DuBois Business College on this exciting new venture offering educational opportunities to Philipsburg’s youth and adult students,” said Shoemaker. “It says a lot about the staff and administration of the college with how much they have invested into the renovated facility, the technology and the community overall.”
