A man was sent to the hospital by medical helicopter early Saturday morning after suffering from a “serious” cut after punching a window of a downtown State College business, according to State College police.
Capt. Matt Wilson said the man was walking around downtown when he became upset at an unknown situation and punched a glass window at McLanahan’s on East College Avenue.
The man then reportedly fled the scene.
Police found the man at about 1:58 a.m. on the 100 block of South Garner Street with an arterial laceration to his arm.

Wilson said the man was administered a tourniquet and transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center by ambulance before being sent by medial helicopter to UPMC Altoona.
“He could be charged with criminal mischief, but our primary concern is the individual’s health,” Wilson said. “Right now, he looks to be OK.”
