A man was taken into custody Sunday evening in State College after allegedly causing a disruption downtown.
According to State College police, Brian Cunningham, 38, was standing on the corner of South Pugh Street and East College Avenue that evening threatening to fight passers-by and saying he would shoot himself. When officers arrived, Cunningham was “highly agitated” and began yelling at police.
He attempted to enter a parked car and start the vehicle, police said, despite officers’ orders to stop. Officers eventually deployed their stun guns, and he was taken into custody.
He was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for evaluation, police said. According to court documents, he now faces two misdemeanor charges of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.
