A 19-year-old man faces felony aggravated assault and escape charges after allegedly injuring a State College police officer while trying to resist arrest after the Penn State homecoming game Saturday.
Brandon Bednash, of Scranton, was arraigned Thursday afternoon in downtown State College and released on $150,000 unsecured bail.
Police said that Bednash was being questioned after allegedly urinating in public when he knocked an officer to the ground and dragged her into the street on the 100 block of South Atherton Street while trying to escape.
The officer was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center after the scuffle and suffered a possible elbow fracture and other injuries.

Investigators got Bednash’s name from papers inside his backpack, which he left behind during the struggle. The officer was able to identify him in a lineup.
His attorney, Tami Fees, said Thursday she could not provide additional comment about the case.
In addition to the felonies, Bednash faces misdemeanor charges of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest, giving false identification and disorderly conduct.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday in Centre County Court.
