A corrections officer at Rockview state prison has been charged with felony institutional sexual assault after a reported relationship with an inmate, according to Department of Corrections investigators.
Rebecca Zong, 27, of Boalsburg, and the inmate told the investigators that they had developed romantic feelings for each each other.
Zong reportedly wrote “sexually explicit” notes to the inmate and had sexual contact with him twice, according to the criminal complaint. Both incidents occurred in the prison chapel, according to the criminal complaint.
Zong has been suspended from her job at the prison, Susan Bensinger, assistant press secretary with the Department of Corrections said in an email.
She is free on $100,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for on Dec. 3.
