A Spring Township resident is suspected of stealing from family members, police said.
Timothy Moyer, 33, is charged with three counts of theft and one count of receiving stolen property after family members reported to Spring Township police that money in their home had gone missing while they were out of town earlier in the week.
A third family member living at the home told police that he recently caught Moyer stealing $20 from his wallet and had noticed money missing in the past.
According to a police affidavit, Moyer arrived at the house while police were present. He told police that he was sorry, and said he had taken the money to spend at the Uni-Mart on “things like cigarettes and energy drinks,” according to the affidavit.

Court documents indicate that Moyer pleaded guilty to writing bad checks in 2009, and theft and bad check charges filed last year are active against him.
Moyer was arraigned before District Judge Kelley Gillette-Walker on Friday and sent to Centre County Correctional Facility on $75,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
