A College Township resident was arrested Monday, accused of assaulting a woman last week.
State College police responded Monday to a vehicle accident involving Benjamin Budd, 34. The vehicle had rolled over and was totaled and Budd had minor injuries, police said.
While handling the accident, police learned of a woman at Mount Nittany Medical Center with back injuries. The woman told police she had suffered the injuries during altercations with Budd that occurred Friday and Saturday, according to court documents.
Police said the woman also had “marks, bruises and abrasions” on her neck, shoulders, arms and legs,” according to police.
Budd faces charges of felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor simple assault, reckless endangerment and making terroristic threats and a misdemeanor harassment charge. He was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Tom Jordan, who set bail at $75,000.
Budd is held at Centre County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 13.
