Police: Man injured in fight during match

State police at Philipsburg are investigating a fight between two men at a wrestling match Friday evening at Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School.

Police said Dennis J. Link, 36, of Ashville, received minor to moderate injuries after the fight with Darrin C. Cassidy, 36, of Bedford. Anyone who saw the beginning of the fight or thinks they have relevant information are asked to contact Trooper Walter Butler at 342-3370.

Philipsburg residents report vehicle thefts

Two Philipsburg residents reported that their vehicles had been broken into — in separate incidents — sometime between Friday evening and Saturday morning, state police at Clearfield said.

The vehicles were parked on Ray and Walton streets in Chester Hill, Clearfield County.

Vincent Felli, 40, reported to police that someone got into his vehicle and removed two mini iPods, one blue and one green. A blue LG8550 cell phone was also taken.

Dona Raymond, 53, reported to police that someone entered her vehicle and removed four CDs, a savings account book and the owner’s manual for the vehicle.

Man charged with DUI in Rush Township

A Patton man was charged with driving under the influence after a traffic stop just after midnight Saturday.

Charges against Jason Troy Gorbar, 36, were filed at the office of District Judge Allen Sinclair, of Philipsburg.

Police stopped Gorbar at the intersection of Railroad and North Centre streets in Rush Township after he allegedly committed several traffic violations.

Further investigation revealed that he was intoxicated, police said.

Heavy-duty tow bar reported stolen

Automax reported that a heavy-duty tow bar was stolen from an antique tow truck between March 5 and 10, State College police said.

The tow bar was valued at $1,000.

Paintballs damage Penns Valley homes

Ten homes along the Madisonburg Pike were damaged by paintballs between Friday night and Saturday morning, according to state police at Rockview.

Police said that the paintball gun was shot from a moving vehicle. Damage included broken windows at two homes, holes in vinyl siding and screening at two additional residences and paint residue on six other homes.

Police suspect DUI as car crashes into store

A 48-year-old Madisonburg woman was not injured after her vehicle struck and broke a window at Harvey’s Food Mart in Millheim, state police at Rockview said.

Police said Barbara L. Mackes failed to stop her vehicle when she turned into the store’s lot about 11 a.m. Saturday.

The passenger side front bumper struck and broke the window. There was no other damage reported.

Mackes, who was taken for blood alcohol content testing, was found to be under the influence of alcohol, police said. Charges will be pending for driving under the influence and summary offenses.
