The state Senate has canceled a hearing Thursday in Harrisburg that was to have Penn State President Rodney Erickson testify about the need for state funding to the university.
The impending snowstorm, with 6 inches or more for the Harrisburg area, prompted lawmakers to call off the 1 p.m. hearing and others being held the same day.
There’s been no word yet on when it would be rescheduled.
The state House has an appropriation scheduled for Thursday morning.
Gov. Tom Corbett has proposed $214 million for Penn State in his 2014-15 budget. That money would go toward subsidizing the cost of in-state tuition.
The budget calls for other funding for the university’s agricultural research and extension.
