An alumna who describes herself as someone passionate about education and Penn State is seeking a one of three alumni-elected seats to the university’s board of trustees.
Jeni Kocher-Zerphy is an author-illustrator and co-founder of Chesapeake Conservation Center and is the philanthropic and corporate events planner for Alapko Inc. in Annapolis, Md. She graduated from Penn State in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in education.
“What PSU needs now more than ever is outside perspective from individuals who understand the impact and value of the university not just in Centre County, but worldwide,” she said.
Kocher-Zerphy described herself as an “idea factory,” enthusiastic and resourceful, and she said she does not have a personal agenda or belong to any special interest groups. Her areas of interest include technology in the classroom and raising awareness of lesser-known distinctions of the university.
