Penn State has been formally notified of Mike McQueary's pending whistleblower lawsuit.
"At this point, we have only received a writ. We have no details with respect to the claim," said David La Torre, a spokesman for Penn State.
A one-page document filed this week shows that the Centre County Sheriff's Office served the writ of summons at 2:45 p.m. May 10 to the president's office in Old Main.
A complaint outlining the reasons for the suit has not been filed yet.
McQueary's attorney, Elliot Strokoff, did not return a message. McQueary could not be reached for comment.
McQueary, on leave from his job as Nittany Lions wide receivers coach, has testified that he walked in on Jerry Sandusky naked in a shower with a boy who appeared to be 10 years old.
The incident hs been determined to have happened Feb. 9, 2001.
