So the big agreement at the Capitol has blown up, which shouldn't surprise anyone.
It does amaze me that they haven't voted one thing yet. No votes on various measures to see what kind of support they have. There's a leadership system that doesn't work and it's time for rank-and-file legislators to get involved.
As for leaders, I recall clearly that Sen. Jake Corman told us in May or early June that if Gov. Rendell's property tax increase would come off the table, they could get a budget within a week because they're not that far apart.
Another Senate GOP leader said that too, if I recall.
Well that tax increase disappeared long ago.
These people need to get into the real world and pay for their health care, at least some of it, and lose their lucrative benefits. It's time to live like other Pennsylvanians.
