My niece, Cassidy, started third grade last Friday in Colorado and already loves it.
No surprise there.
But surprises abound at age 8, as virtually every phone call yields. On Tuesday night she "borrowed" dad's cell phone and decided to text her cousins down the street.
Mind you, the adults in the house don't know how to text. But Cassidy does, and she showed it Tuesday.
I don't text, but I'm expecting an e-mail any day.
