I applaud the Penn State students who are saying Gov. Ed Rendell shortchanged the university in his tuition aid plan and the budget overall.
It's high time the students get involved. In recent years they didn't make much of an issue about rising tuition, instead rallying against sweatshops and anything else.
Never miss a local story.
Their tuition has been climbing faster than anything out there, so they should stand up. Let's hope they continue.
As for Penn State, being shut out of this new tuition plan is a slap in the face by a governor who should know better. It's now up the legislators, who have plenty of other tough choices.
Can you see budget gridlock in Harrisburg?
