I'm late in posting this, but I must make note of my experience in St. Louis just about 10 days ago.
There's no smoking ban in Missouri and you notice it immediately when you enter a bar or restaurant. You nearly choke if you sit at a bar for any length of time. It seems everyone in there is smoking.
Never miss a local story.
OK, that's an exaggeration but that's what it feels like.
We already are spoiled here in Pennsylvania, and I suspect most of us are happy.
It took our legislature years to approve a smoking ban. It's taking Missouri's legislature even longer. Smokers are having a field day in St. Louis and around Missouri, and I understand the big stumbling block is the casinos.
Whatever the details, Missouri would do well to follow along. If New York, California, even Pennsylvania can ban smoking, so can the Show Me state.
