Students and college staff are going to have to be heard in this state budget debate, and there was noise in rallies at the State System universities yesterday.
Anne Danahy covered the rally in Lock Haven.
Good for them, and I suggest they do it often. But what about Penn State? What are Penn State students and staff doing about the budget mess they're in.
Nothing visible, and I just wonder. Where are they?
Never miss a local story.
Penn State students have held a couple poorly attended rallies against rising tuition this semester, but largely they have been silent this year and in other years as their bills go up.
Or should I say their parents' bills, and that may be the problem here.
Somehow, though, the State System folks are engaged in this process and making their voices heard. We can't say the same for Penn State.
