There's so much talk about the Paternos and their handling of the quarterback shuffle that the defensive coaches get lost this shuffle.
Well no longer. Tom Bradley's great game plan against Iowa answered questions about how good the Penn State defense is, and Larry Johnson's steady coaching and contributing keep making a big difference.
It's nice to see them get some attention while the quarterback indecision plays out across the nation.
Now that the offensive line is becoming a force and the running game takes stage, maybe the quarterback situation can play out in the background. Maybe it really won't matter, although it's obvious to anyone who watches that the team plays better with Matt McGloin under center.
Penn State fans concerned about a lost season now find the Nittany Lions at 5-1 and very capable of winning the October games.
Should be fun to watch. Congrats to the defense and its coaches.
