Well, there is Justice after all.
The Justice Department has backed away from changing the Freedom of Information Act.
According to an Associated Press report, the department sent a letter to Sen. Charles Grassley, ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, saying its proposed regulation "falls short" of balancing the need for openness and the need to protect vital law enforcement and national security concerns.
The Associated Press Media Editors, as noted in my previous post, had sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder opposing any change.
Never miss a local story.
Other groups had similar concerns. All's well at this point.
