closeOn Centre: Around Philipsburg Fall has become bazaar season

- For the CDT
There is something about fall that makes people want to come together and share a cup of coffee, linger over tables of things other people have made with their own hands, and talk to friends and strangers.
Welcome to the bazaar.
Today and Friday, Trinity United Methodist Church in Philipsburg is hosting its annual event.
Reed Hall, the church’s event space in the basement, will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday offering serious shoppers (and interested lookers) an opportunity to take in the wares.
Refreshments of ham and cheese sandwiches will be available for sale.
On Oct. 24, a holiday bazaar will be held at Windy Hill Village, sponsored by the home’s auxiliary and for the benefit of the residents.
The event will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the social room of the assisted-living portion of the facility. It will feature handmade craft items for sale for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, and general items.
There will also be a bake sale of pies, cakes, cookies, candy and soup in the Sweet Shop, a cafe serving soup, sandwiches and sweets for lunch, a beautiful handmade quilt raffle, and professionally made craft items for bidding.
Sharing a meal
Trinity will once again host a free “Share our Blessings” community dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday
The meals are free of charge.
