- sganim@centredaily.comA 22-year-old Moshannon man is in jail after police say he held a two-foot-long sword to an 8-year-old boy's throat and said he was going to behead him.
Robert William Quick told the boy, “If I was going to waste my blade on something, it’s going to be your neck,” police wrote in a criminal complaint.
Quick is in jail on $ 75,000 cash bail, meaning he’ll have to post the full amount if he wants to get out.
State police at Rockview say Quick had been swinging the sword near two young boys and using the weapon to cut down tree branches around 7 p.m. Sunday in a wooded area near Borger Road in Snow Shoe Township.
Quick stabbed the sword through the bottom of the 8- year-old boy’s worm bucket, then pointed it at the kid’s neck and began threatening him.
The boy told police he became scared, and Quick said: “If you tell anyone, I’ll cut your head off.”
Quick, who lives at 118 Borger Road, then left and later hid the sword under his trailer, police said.
Wednesday, when police talked to Quick, he admitted to being with the boys that evening and showed police where he’d hidden the weapon.
Police charged him with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person and other related charges. He was arraigned before District Judge Leslie Dutchcot.
