A 16-year-old Philipsburg area teenager was killed in a one-vehicle accident Thursday night in Morrisdale, Clearfield County.
Justin M. Foreman was one of three passengers in a Ford Escape that crashed around 8:30 p.m at Gray Hollow Road between state Route 53 and Graham Station Road. Foreman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lt. Todd Lombardo, of the Morris-Cooper Regional Police, said the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed and swerved to avoid a deer when control of the vehicle was lost. The vehicle went off the road and rolled over.
The driver and two other passengers were transported to Clearfield Hospital by Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services of Philipsburg. They suffered minor injuries.
Foreman was the only one in the vehicle not wearing his seat belt, according to Lombardo. He was ejected from the vehicle, and his body was found about eight feet from the crash site.
