Standoff ends in man's death
A 60-year-old Warriors Mark man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after a standoff with state police on Sunday.
Police responded to the home about 1:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a domestic situation.
State police at Huntingdon say the man was distraught, had weapons and would not cooperate with them.
A state police Special Emergency Response Team was called to the scene and at 8 p.m. confirmed that the man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
Bellefonte teen injured, cited in crash
A 17-year-old Bellefonte girl received a traffic citation after she crashed her 1999 Subaru Legacy off state Route 64 in Walker Township.
The crash occurred at about 8:20 p.m. Saturday, as she was traveling north, just south of Hublersburg Road.
Police say she lost control of the vehicle, went off the road.
The car then struck the bottom of the bank with the front end and rolled over, coming to rest on its wheels, police say.
She was treated at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
