BELLEFONTE — A 65-year-old Osceola Mills man is facing trial on charges he groped a 13-year-old boy, then wrote a sexually explicit story about the boy and his friend and gave it to them as a present.
Dennis N. Reedy was charged by state police after the boys showed police the four-page story.
“The story detailed fictional male actors engaging in homosexual activity,” Trooper Richard Hoover wrote in charging papers. “Both juveniles were interviewed and detailed how Dennis Reedy had given them a copy of the story and assigned their names to the male characters in the story.” One of the boys also told police that Reedy grabbed his groin while they were working in Reedy’s garage at 322 E. Pine St.
This all happened in March, police said, when Reedy let the boys work on their go-cart in his garage.
They each testified in court Wednesday about Reedy giving them the story, and District Judge Tom Jordan ruled there was enough evidence for the case, prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Yvette Willson, to go to trial.
Reedy has been charged with indecent assault, corruption of minors, and a charge related to dissemination of obscene and other sexual materials to minors.
When police searched his computer, the story given to the boys wasn’t found, police say, but other similar stories were found.
