Man accused of sexually assaulting granddaughter
A 53-year-old Blair County man is accused of sexually assaulting his teenage biological granddaughter.
The accused, whose name is not being published in order to protect the identity of the victim, was arrested Saturday afternoon.
He’s accused of having a sexual relationship with his granddaughter between June 1 and 30.
He was committed to Blair County Prison in lieu of $75,000 straight cash bail.
He’s charged with statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, incest, endangering the welfare of a child, tampering with or fabricating evidence, intimidation of a witness or victim, providing alcohol to a minor and related offenses.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.
Police conduct traffic detail on Route 322
State police at Philipsburg conducted DUI patrols and checkpoints along U.S. Route 322 in Rush Township between 10 p.m. Friday and 4 a.m. Saturday.
As a result of the detail: 186 motorists were stopped; three were issued child restraint citations; one was issued a speeding citation; one was issued a driving under suspension citation; four received underage drinking citations; seven received other traffic- related citations; and 21 received warnings.
Philipsburg man charged with assaulting woman
State police say William Andrew Fabiseski, 34, of Philipsburg, will be charged with simple assault and harassment for striking a 44-year-old Philipsburg woman with a closed fist several times.
Police say the assault occurred about 12:30 p.m. Saturday on South Front Street in Philipsburg.
