Woman sought in hospital medication theft
State College police are looking for a woman believed to have stolen prescription medications from Mount Nittany Medical Center in October.
Police say the woman is thin, white, between 120 and 125 pounds and about 5 feet 4 inches tall with long straight, dirty blond or light brown hair.
The woman is thought to be in her mid-20s, police say, and she has a stud on the top of her right ear, a hoop earring in the cartilage in front of her right ear canal and three or four earrings in the back right earlobe.
Police say she took numerous bottles of pharmaceutical drugs from three locked storage units on different floors of the hospital.
Police think she disguised herself by wearing a heavy brown winter jacket, tan pants, glasses and a turquoise knit hat, then tucked her hair in the hat.
She fled the hospital in a dark blue or black SUV — possibly a Jeep or Suzuki — with a spare tire on the back, police say.
Photographs can be seen at www.statecollegepa.us. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Steve Bosak at 234-7150, or submit an anonymous tip online.

Madisonburg fire destroys home of Amish family
A fire Tuesday afternoon in Madisonburg destroyed an Amish family’s home.
Miles Township Fire Chief Brad Miller said eight companies — two from Clinton County — responded to the afternoon blaze to help cart in water to the 2,000-square-foot home about a half mile from state Route 192 on Shaffertown Road.
Miller said neighbors called the fire company after seeing smoke pouring out of the home, and crews arrived to find flames shooting through the roof.
“We couldn’t find any obvious sources,” Miller said. “The father told us they had a problem before with some young ones playing with matches so the fire marshal is going out there (today) to determine cause.”
No foul play is suspected, Miller said.
“The homeowner wants to know for future knowledge,” he said.
