Marijuana, cash found during stop on I-80
GRAHAM TOWNSHIP, Clearfield County — Police found marijuana and $4,700 in cash after stopping a 2008 Dodge Caravan for a traffic violation at 10 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 80 westbound near mile marker 128.
State police at Clearfield said they learned that the driver, Freddie Bennett III, 34, of Detroit, did not have a driver’s license. A search of the vehicle was conducted using a dog and Ronnie Wright, 30, and Reginal Johnson, 29, both of Lorain, Ohio, were found to be in possession of marijuana, police said. The search dog also found $4,700, which police seized.
Police: Woman dragged alongside car after spat
STATE COLLEGE — A man was arrested by State College police Wednesday night after dragging his girlfriend alongside his car after she got out of the car, then somehow got caught on the vehicle, according to court documents.
John Thomas Allen III, 26, with no known address, is charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment following the incident Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the 300 block of East Branch Road.
The victim suffered scrapes and abrasions to her upper body and was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment, according to police.
Allen was taking his girlfriend to work and an argument ensued, according to court documents. Allen stopped and ordered her from the car, and she tried to get out, police said. But she reached back inside to get her cell phone and, when she did, Allen drove off, according to the criminal complaint.
The woman became caught on the car and tried running alongside the Pontiac Grand Prix until Allen accelerated and she fell, according to police.
Witnesses saw the end portion of the incident and called police, according to court documents.
