Students share what they are thankful for

Students from teacher Denise Putt’s second-grade class at North Lincoln Hill Elementary School in the Philipsburg-Osceola Area School District were asked to write about what they are thankful for this Thanksgiving.

Most students started by writing, “I am thankful for many things.” Then they backed up that statement by giving thanks for everything from having a home to having freedom. Here’s what they had to say:

I am thankful for my family. I get lots of hugs and kisses from them. They make me feel safe. Next I am thankful for the soldiers that fight for our freedom. I like freedom to do whatever I want. Also, I am thankful for the emergency personnel. They help our country. Lastly, I am thankful for God for everything. He started the whole planet. — Sadie Myers

I am thankful for friends. I can play with them outside. Next I am thankful for our veterans. They fight for our freedom. I’m also thankful for my home. I can sleep in it. Last I am thankful for freedom. I can go to any church. — Zeke Granville

I am thankful for my friends. They help me. Next I am thankful for my teacher. She teaches me. Also I am thankful for my home. It makes me safe. Last I am thankful for my dog. He makes me stay away from other people I don’t know. — Gage Fulmer

I am thankful for my sister. She helps me with my math homework. Next I am thankful for my dog. I be nice to him. He plays with me. Then I am thankful for my dad and mom. They listen to me when I read. Last I am thankful for my friends. They play with me. — Natalie Ruggiero

I am thankful for my pet dog. He is fun. He does tricks. Second I am thankful for my home. I like to play the flute. Third I am thankful for my freedom. I can choose my job. Fourth, I am thankful for family. They help me. — Kenny Smith

I am thankful for my dog. He gives me kisses. Next, I am thankful for having a family. I get lots of love. Also I am thankful for my birthday. I get all the attention and all the presents I want. Last but not least, I am thankful for my friends. They come and play with me every day. — Sadi Roach

I am thankful for my home. I like the food that they cook. Second I am thankful for my pet, he is nice. Third I am thankful for veterans. They protect us. Last but not least I am thankful for my family. We get together and watch parades on TV. — Angela Sevetsky

I am thankful for my teacher. She teaches us a lot of stuff. Then I am thankful for my dog. She makes me feel happy. I’m also thankful for my life. Life is good and fun. Last but not least I am thankful for freedom. I can’t wait to vote. — Shea Jarrett

I’m thankful for my teacher. Mrs. Putt is nice. She gives love and care. Next I’m thankful for my pets. When I pet my cat she purrs and my dog, when someone is at the door, he barks. I’m also thankful for my family. They give hugs and kisses and they make me laugh. Lastly I’m thankful for freedom of religion. We don’t have to go to the same church. — Savannah Glessner

I am thankful that I have a home. I feel safe in my home. Next I am thankful that there are veterans. They fight for our freedom. I’m also thankful that we have police officers. I feel safe to go outside. Finally I am thankful for my family. They take care of me. They help me. — Trey Shaw

I am thankful for my pets. They are fun. Next I am thankful for my family. We do stuff together. I like to go to the beach with them. I’m also thankful for my friends. We play on the trampoline. Last I am thankful for emergency personnel. If we didn’t have them bad stuff would happen. — Madison Lucas
