In a video provided to the Miami Herald by a source who wishes to remain anonymous, a man makes it past Miami International Airport security Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, jumps onto a luggage carousel, and sprints onto the airport tarmac. Video has been edited by the Herald.
A miner in West Virginia was filmed passionately singing the national anthem before his October 10 shift in a clip which has been shared widely online. Josh Stowers performed the Star-Spangled Banner at the Mammoth Coal Company, West Virginia while his colleagues stood with their heads bowed, eyes closed and hands over their hearts. The video was shared on Facebook by Stowers’ colleague Shane Wriston, a safety worker at Alpha Natural Resources, which owns Mammoth Coal.
Protesters chanted “blood on your hands” on Monday, August 21, at the first meeting of the Charlottesville City Council following violence at a white nationalist rally in the city that left one dead and 19 injured. Protesters were angered over the city council’s decision to allow the “Unite the Right” rally to be held in Charlottesville on August 12.
A Facebook page dedicated to finding Ron Tarnowski, 82, and Mary Tarnowski, 78, of Minnesota posted video of the couple entering a business at a store near Brookston. The surveillance video was captured on July 29, 2017. The couple was found dead on Saturday, August 5, 2017.
At least 10 people were injured after a strong bout of turbulence hit American Airlines Flight 759 en route from Athens, Greece, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, August 5. While American Airlines said the seatbelt sign was on at the time of the incident, a witness told the Miami Herald that “a man had flown up from his seat, hit the ceiling and landed on his father – hard.”
After a fishing boat capsized in the Kupreanof Strait near Raspberry Island, Alaska, on July 24, the boat’s captain jumped into the water to rescue a crewman. The Grayling was reported capsized at 3:25 p.m. when a nearby vessel, the Calista Marie, responded to assist, reported the Alaska Dispatch News. This video was taken by a Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak MH-60 Jayhawk crew.
The relatives of Clifton Harris, a man who was assaulted and left in a vegetative state at the Sacramento County Main Jail, are fighting an effort by the county to stop caring for him by releasing him from custody. They also want to know how he was injured.
