Answer to question: I see the position as one that advocates for and unites our community. I hope to meld the best of the old and new into the future of my hometown. I want to encourage the young, old, rich and poor to become active in the community. Involvement promotes pride, and pride is the foundation of a strong community. We face financial and social challenges. A diminishing or stagnant tax base in the face of ever-rising cost is one. We need to address our aging infrastructures and declining downtown retail opportunities. Staying vibrant in today’s economy is one of our biggest challenges. Bellefonte will survive, but in surviving, it will also change.
