In my estimation, Republicans have become recalcitrant regarding the Affordable Care Act and stand in the way of progress for fear of losing their own cushy jobs with cushy benefits.
One thing of which I am certain is that the ACA has the potential to do for policyholders what private insurance companies have never done and will never do, which is to put the interests of policyholders first.
The ACA is the law of the land and has been funded, not by accident but by a well-conceived and documented effort.
Now, obstructionist politicians want to diminish the ACA and what it can accomplish for millions of insured and uninsured citizens in order to prop up their own campaigns.
If these obstructionist politicians are real men and real women and real legislators and are really convinced that the ACA is such a bad idea, they can prove their mettle and substantiate that they really know the truth while all others don’t, by supporting the law of the land.
Then, if they are right, they can say, “I told you so.”
They cannot claim any success if they must first cripple this legislation to do so.
