For almost two years now, members of the Penn State board of trustees and President Rodney Erickson have, on numerous occasions, publicly pledged transparency.
However, now Penn State is fighting against the release of records that the Commonwealth Court ruled fall under Pennsylvania’s Right To Know Law.
Isn’t this a lack of integrity?
Isn’t George Mitchell being paid a large sum of money to monitor the integrity of Penn State, or is he just collecting a paycheck? There are a lot of people who have made a lot of money from the Jerry Sandusky scandal. Unfortunately, the people who are ultimately paying the bills — students, faculty, staff and local businesses — had nothing to do with any of it.
Penn State claims that there will be “substantial harm” done if these records are released.
I imagine this is true. The information would most likely cause substantial harm to those trustees who have tried to lay blame at the feet of Penn State instead of trying to find the truth.
