Did anybody notice the increased gas prices the first of the year?
If so, just thank Gov. Tom Corbett, Rep. Kerry Benninghoff, Rep. Mike Hanna and Sen. Jake Corman for their votes and support for the $2.3 billion Transportation Funding Act Tax.
It’s not only for transportation; there’s a lot of pork in this one. The taxes include increments of a 28-cent-per-gallon state tax, increase on driver’s license fees and increased fines on traffic violations — all the political posturing of a smaller state government, which I thought could occur.
Instead, another new imposed tax on the working-class people of Pennsylvania became law. My question is, do they speak and stand for us? Or do they just think of us as ignorant voters?
