I recently addressed the Penn State trustees to urge them to change the current board composition and the adopt recommendations of former auditor general Jack Wagner and state Sens. John Yudichak and Jake Corman.
Although the board has made some minimal changes, more substantial revisions are needed.
The board is still too large and cumbersome and there needs to be more transparency and alumni oversight in appointing constituency groups, especially the business and industry group.
I urge readers to contact their legislators to move Yudichak’s proposed bill forward and give alumni the improved governance we deserve.
I also ask the board to publicly honor Joseph V. Paterno, the greatest coach and educator in the history of college athletics. It’s a long-overdue necessity.
