Letter to the Editor | Scalia should read Jefferson

In 2010, Supreme Court Justice Anthony Scalia and the four other corporate plutocratic minded justices forced the lawyers presenting a suit directed at a portion of the McCain Feingold Campaign Law into a wider question of campaign finance law. This new case as directed by Scalia and the four other justices was to decide if the First Amendment included money as free speech, along with the perverted idea that corporations are people with free speech. This case came to be known as Citizens United, and opened the floodgates for corporations to buy elections and our democracy.
